Hidden Valley Falls Kayak Adventure
Available: Tu,Th,Sa
Check-in Time: 8:30am or 11:30am
Enjoy a lovely paddle on the Hule’ia River, a beautiful calm-water jungle stream. After cruising downwind for 2 miles, we’ll tie our kayaks to a tree and take a ¾ mile hike up the valley to an enchanting area of waterfalls and swimming holes. Take a swing on our rope into a deep-water mountain pool, and then for the return trip, rather than paddling your kayak into headwinds, kick back and cruise down river on our motorized Hawaiian canoe. This trip is great way to have some fun and see some pretty places, without spending your whole day at it.
What’s Included: Cold bottled water and Hanalima Bakery cookies.
What to wear and bring: Swimsuit, windbreaker or light rain coat, footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions (example: sport type sandals with heel straps or aqua socks with tread), sunscreen, towel, hat, bug spray, waterproof camera.
What You Need To Know
You must be able to walk one and a half miles over irregular terrain on a good rainforest trail, and paddle a tandem kayak together with a partner for 60-90 minutes.
NOTE:
Beginning February 15, 2026 all of our Wailua kayaking guests will be meeting at the Wailua River Marina at 3-5971 Kuhio Hwy in Kapaa. The check in times will be 8:30am or 11:30am. Guests should park in the marina parking lot, and then walk over to meet their guide at the marina next to our white Outfitters Kauai van.
Additionally, beginning February 15, 2026 the State of Hawaii will be collecting parking and entrance fees from everyone using the Wailua River State Park. Guests will be required to pay $10 per vehicle to park, and $5 per person (non-resident). They will pay those fees directly at the marina, and the State only accepts credit card payments.
